It is based in the German city of Dresden, the heart of the semiconductor industry in Europe. Concurrently, D-SIMLAB has sealed an initial engagement with one of the leading European semiconductor manufacturers also located in Dresden.

The aim of this project is to study the applicability of short-term simulation and optimization for performance enhancement in the dynamic and environment of semiconductor manufacturing. Explained Dr Peter Lendermann, CEO of D-SIMLAB, “The establishment of this subsidiary in Dresden will be essential for our customer support activities, not only for our semiconductor but also for our aerospace clients in Europe.

At the same time I am confident that the engagement with our first semiconductor client will also give momentum to our efforts to generate business with other waferfabs right back here in Singapore.” Mr Boon Swan Foo, Executive Chairman of Exploit Technologies, one of the key shareholders in D-SIMLAB, said, “Exploit Technologies is delighted that D-SIMLAB has not only graduated from its incubatee status, but has also diversified its business into semiconductor manufacturing and established a foothold in the European market.

The company’s partnership with the leading German semiconductor manufacturer is a good first step to a gateway of new business opportunities. We are proud to have incubated this promising A*STAR’s spin-off through the infant phase in evolving its business model and helping with its fund-raising rounds.”
