Initial Inventory Provisioning using Poisson Calculation

Initial Provisioning: The inventory level of spare parts that has to be purchased upon the introduction of a new fleet of aircrafts.

Traditionally, provisioning has been carried out using a conventional Poisson-based approach where inventory quantities are calculated separately for each part based on the overall demand of spares for that part. In order to do this, it is important to be able to calculate the expected demand across all airports and regions accurately.

D-SIMSPAIR modeller can calculate this inventory level directly for all parts and give the overall Service Level that can be achieved from this inventory.

How you benefit

  • Automated calculation of Initial Provisioning
  • Estimates demands to be generated by failure
  • Estimates overall Service Level achieved
